Figured Maples
Spectrum Hardwoods inventories Birdseye Maple, Curly Maple & Quilted Maple lumber manufactured out of logs harvested from 15-30 years ago. Such set-aside, high-figured Maple lumber was harvested in the era when not all the top-figured Maple logs were converted to veneer, as they generally are today.
The net result is inventory of very highly-figured Maples that have been aged from 10-30 years, thereby also stabilizing any internal tensions from interwoven grains in Highly-Figured Woods. A resulting benefit of long-term aging is less movement during assembly and during service of the end-product.
